There’s something oddly satisfying about labels, right? They don’t just make things look more organized, they somehow make everyday items feel more personal, intentional, and way more aesthetic too. A simple jar suddenly feels thought-through instead of just practical.

3 DIY label ideas to make your home look more aesthetic

If you’re curious about these label ideas and want to see them in action, the video above is for you. In this video, my colleague Emma shows how she used labels to transform her home and shares a few of her best tips along the way. Watch it and get inspired!

First of all… what are labels on roll?

Before we jump into the projects, let’s talk about labels on roll.

If you’ve never used them before, they’re custom labels that come neatly wound on a roll, ready to peel and apply directly to your products or objects. No cutting, no trimming, no unnecessary hassle.

At StickerApp, you can create labels in almost any shape or size. And since you can order relatively small quantities, they’re ideal for personal projects, gifts, events, or even testing ideas for a small business. They simply make everything look just a little bit more intentional.

Pimp up your kitchen with spice jar labels

Perhaps you can relate to having a messy spice cabinet. Random packaging, half-open bags, three different paprika jars for absolutely no reason… all together, just one big mess.

Luckily, it’s a pretty easy thing to fix. Simply switching to matching glass jars with custom labels instantly makes everything feel cleaner, more organized, and way more aesthetic. You can find glass jars pretty much anywhere (like that Swedish furniture store with the really good meatballs… wink wink), and once you add matching labels, the entire setup suddenly feels clean, organized, and surprisingly aesthetic.

For this project, kraft paper labels work especially well because they give that soft, natural look. And even better… you can write directly on kraft paper for a more personal feel.

Now instead of hiding my spices away, they’ve somehow become part of the kitchen decor.

  1. A hand placing a glass jar labeled “Mango” onto a wooden shelf next to other labeled jars containing coconut and spices.
  2. Glass jars with handwritten labels placed on a wooden kitchen shelf. The jars contain dried mango, coconut, and various spices including smoked paprika, coriander, and fennel seeds.

Custom wine bottles for your dinner party

Imagine hosting a dinner party with a fun theme and placing a wine bottle on the table that perfectly matches the vibe of the evening. Maybe it’s a Mediterranean night, a cozy autumn dinner, or a summer garden party. Adding a custom label to the bottle instantly makes everything feel a little more thought-through and personal.

This is also such a fun idea for weddings. Imagine placing wine bottles on the tables with a custom label featuring the wedding logo on the front and a personal message on the back. A small detail that keeps guests at the table entertained for a moment.

Here, we used vinyl labels, still one of the most popular choices for a reason. Classic, clean, and durable- you simply can't go wrong!

  1. A dark wine bottle with an range cap standing inside a cabinet next to two tall champagne glasses.
  2. Close-up of a custom wine bottle label with elegant typography reading “A Perfect Pairing,” including a wedding message, alcohol percentage, and the names Brittany & George with a wedding date.

Personalized candle labels that match the vibe of your home

Candles are always a nice upgrade to your home decor. The best candles work on two levels: they smell great and actually fit the aesthetic of the room they live in.

That’s exactly what makes custom candle labels such a fun DIY idea. A simple label can completely transform plain candles into something that feels way more personal, premium, and thought-through.

For this project, kraft paper labels work beautifully because they give a soft, warm, minimalist feel, but depending on the vibe you’re going for, glossy finishes or transparent labels can look amazing too.

It’s such an easy DIY, but it instantly makes candles feel way more luxurious and personal.

Small labels, big difference

The best part about all of these ideas? They’re super easy to recreate, but instantly make everyday items feel more personal. And honestly… once you start labeling things, it’s very hard to stop. So, what’s going to be your next label DIY project?
